Accessible Things To Do In Boston
Written by Chillie Falls, September 22, 2024
Last night, Hot Air Tom and I traveled from Boston’s Intercontinental Hotel to sail on the Spirit of Boston Dinner Cruise. Unfortunately, the weather was awful with cold rain and wind. But we wrapped up and took off in the rain.

The cruise was advertised as Wheelchair Accessible but I am always leary of that. Wow, I was surprised. First I had to roll down a lengthy dock to the ship where one of the crew led me to an elevator (off the ship) which took me down to Deck 1. Then I followed him down a very narrow passageway, and over a ramp which brought me inside the ship on the level where the dinner was to be served, and entertainment provided.

On that level was an accessible restroom. However, it was locked. They had to radio for the key whenever I needed to use the facilities. This was a pain in the butt, but doable.
The food was a buffet, something I am never fond of; however, this food was delicious. To book this cruise, CLICK
There were three salads: prime rib, Mexican chicken, Jamaican pulled pork, pasta that I could not pronounce, salmon, and an array of vegetables. Later, there was a dessert bar. There was a full bar and a bevy of waitresses running orders.

Entertainment was a really good DJ and in no time, the dance floor was full. During the evening, those that wanted to brave the weather would go up on deck to view the Boston skyline at night. Once we returned to port, I was accompanied back the same route to the elevator and back upstairs to the pier.

All in all, a fantastic evening, and comfortably accessible. If you are in Boston, I highly recommend the Spirit of Boston Dinner Cruise. For more info, Go Here
