Today I had the honor to interview Captain Mick of Active Disabled Americans for my Travel and Cruise Industry News Show about his belief in accessible water adventures that empower the disabled. As a polio survivor since the age of 2, Captain Mick has dedicated his life to providing everyone with an accessible boating experience. Over 30 years ago, he began working toward creating a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the water related activities through donations. To this day, he continues to work daily to share his passion of providing accessible and inclusive water activities for all through Active Disabled Americans.
“By empowering people with disabilities, we aim to help them realize their full potential. Our goal is to create lasting memories for all communities, with an emphasis on veterans and individuals living with physical limitations as well as various other disabilities, “stated Captain Mick. “Our unique knowledge and experience enables us to understand and adapt equipment that meets the needs of our community. Active Disabled Americans, our non-profit organization was founded in 2004, and is dedicated to providing a better quality of life for those individuals who need our support.“
Captain Mick, (Michael Nealey) lives in Islamorada, FL.
