Last month, when a friend and I visited Pensacola, we needed something to do since our music festival was cancelled. We both wanted to go to some sports event and saw that the Pensacola Blue Wahoos were playing a few games at home during our visit. I have never seen a Minor League Baseball game in person before, so I was ready to give it a chance.
I bought tickets online prior to arriving to make it easier. Tickets for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos vs Montgomery Biscuits Friday night game were only $16 and includes a free T-shirt for the first 2000 fans to enter. Tickets were emailed right away and were transferred to my digital wallet on my android app.
We were at the beach on Friday and had a friend drive us to Blue Wahoos Stadium a few hours before the game started. Trying to find a taxi or Uber was always a bit challenging for us, but a friend decided to take the 20 minute drive for us. (It would have been the same distance from our hotel at Quality Inn anyways.) We arrived early enough to explore the area for a little bit and returned in time to get our free T shirt.
Blue Wahoos Stadium is located at Admiral Fetterman Field at Community Maritime Park. This multi-use park not only has the stadium but it also has a waterfront public park, an amphitheater, and commercial buildings.
The stadium opened in April 2012 and can has a capacity of just over 5000 people. Besides being a baseball field, other events at the stadium includes soccer, football, festivals and more. We can definitely tell that the stadium is on the newer side as everything looks in great shape.
