Dallas is a modern city in the heart of Texas – one that unites people of all races, ethnicities and religions into a vibrant fabric that is quintessentially American. Its diverse neighborhoods have a hometown feel, while the downtown area is in the midst of a revitalization.
I traveled to The Lone Star State thanks to the support of Visit Dallas, the city’s tourism bureau. Their support of my work in accessible tourism was enthusiastic, and I found this attitude of inclusivity evident throughout the city.
From an accessibility standpoint, the city is evolving and growing every day in its openness to people of all abilities. An almost fully accessible public transportation system, coupled with attractions that are open to all, make Dallas a perfect destination for the wheelchair traveler.
