Yesterday was Embarkation Day on Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas from Baltimore, Maryland. That checked off a couple of my To Do list items: my first sailing from Baltimore, and my first sailing on Enchantment of the Seas.
Baltimore does things a little different from most cruise ports. The porters and luggage handlers are in a different place from where one drops off passengers. So, my Uber driver stopped and dropped off my suitcase, but I had to keep the walker with me since I had no idea how far I would need to walk to get to a wheelchair, or if they would bring one to me.

Actually, I only had to maneuver about 20 yards, but had to sit and wait my turn for a wheelchair and pusher. So, my rollator came in handy. I waited about 15 minutes and a gentleman gathered me, and the lady “in charge” promised to get my walker to the baggage handlers to take it to my room. My suitcase and the walker showed up in my cabin in a very timely fashion.
The security and check-in procedures went as smoothly as possible and I was ready to move onto the ship in about 30 minutes of my arrival.
Unfortunately, I found out that Royal Caribbean now allows scooter to be delivered at the curb, but since I did not know that before yesterday, my scooter had been delivered to my room.
Another slightly different procedure, they took my wheelchair out at dock level, rather than pushing me up the long uphill ramps to Deck 4. I actually entered Deck One gangway which is used for ports of call.

The young lady pushing me had to get some assistance getting me up the gangway, but took me straight to my room, even though it wasn’t ready, to retrieve my Scootaround Scooter. All in all, a very smooth Embarkation.
Thanks for this update! Enjoy trip
